The Second Sister by Marie Bostwick is a beautifully written novel about family, friendship, second chances, and healing.  It is filled with deeply moving characters and an emotionally rich story line that will make you laugh, cry, ache and smile. I so enjoyed reading  this book!

Lucy Toomey, a long time political campaigner is about to celebrate the final culmination of years of hard work when she receives word that her older sister, Alice has died.

With Alice's death, Lucy is forced to return home to a small town in Wisconsin. Returning to a past haunted with memories of Alice's accident as a teenager and the life changing effects it held for her sister, herself and their family.

As Lucy sorts out Alice's seemingly eccentric last wishes, she begins a journey of self realization finding healing, friendship and joy in the most unexpected ways.

Through learning more about Alice and the life she left behind, Lucy finds unique gifts from Alice that open the door for Lucy to find  things she never dreamed she was missing and the life she never knew she was longing for.

Many thanks to Kim @ Nancy Berlin Public Relations  for the opportunity to review this book. My review is an honest reflection of my thoughts and feelings about this book.
