~ From the publisher ~

Three sisters struggle with the bonds that hold their family together as they face a darkness settling over their lives in this masterfully written debut novel.

There are three beautiful blond Babcock sisters: gorgeous and foul-mouthed Adrienne, observant and shy Vanessa, and the youngest and best-loved, Marie. Their mother is ill with leukemia and the girls spend a lot of time with her at a Mexican clinic across the border from their San Diego home so she can receive alternative treatments.

Vanessa is the middle child, a talented pianist who is trying to hold her family together despite the painful loss that they all know is inevitable. As she and her sisters navigate first loves and college dreams, they are completely unaware that an illness far more insidious than cancer poisons their home.

Their world is about to shatter under the weight of an incomprehensible betrayal.

Why this book?

The synopsis just drew me into the story.  I just kept thinking, what more could this family face while going through such a hard thing as cancer?

What could be more evil and "insidious" than cancer?

I can't wait to find out!

Ooh a story about sisters and family. Love that already. I'm intrigued by the blurb too and want to know what that sinister evil is. Seems like an emotional read, especially since the mother has cancer. Thanks for sharing this one :)

Happy Wednesday!

This might be a hard read for me. I lost my mother to cancer, and watching her body take on that battle nearly did me in. Then again, I probably will relate really well with the characters. Not sure yet, but thanks for putting it on my radar!

Oh wow! This is the best written blurb I've seen in a long time -- that last line just makes you view the blurb entirely differently you know? Great choice!

First of all, I LOVE that cover! It's just GORGEOUS! Second, I like the whole idea of three sisters, each with a different personality, (Although I don't like that one of them is foul-mouthed.) There are three of us in my own family, and one of my sisters is also a talented pianist! She, too, happens to be the one who holds the family together, So of course this book would interest me!

On the other hand....I can see that this will be a real tearjerker, so I don't know if I can handle it. But maybe I will.

Thanks for sharing! Also, thanks for dropping by and commenting on my own WOW!! Have a GREAT weekend!! :)
